Hello friends and thanks for checking out our blog! Meet the Kojaks — we started this blog to document our journey to adopt our son from Eastern Europe. Our newest little love muffin rocks an extra chromosome, and although we’d be lying if we said we understand all that will mean to us in the coming years, we are over the moon to be adding this guy to our family!
We love Jesus, our kids, being outside, college sports and our white Boxer, Gypsy. Please consider praying for us as we learn and grow and stretch and change over the course of this adoption process, and continue praying as we adjust to life with another crazy Kojak in the mix.
WIthout further adieu, let me introduce our tribe…
Daddy K
He’s the tallest man I know (The Gardener)…and my best friend. He is calm, patient, slow to anger, and quick to help out anyone who needs it. He’s a lot of things I’m not, and I am so thankful we are partnered up for life. I can’t imagine it any other way. He is also an amazing Daddy, and I can’t wait to see him pour his love into our newest addition. Daddy K is active-duty Air Force, and we are a transient bunch as a result.
Ali (Mama K)
I will do most of the blog’s writing, although I may manage to bribe Daddy K into a guest post or two. I’m a stay-at-home Mama, although I still serve as an Air Force Reservist (which simply means I wear my uniform for about a month each year). I don’t deserve any of these beautiful people, but they are mine all mine, and for that, I am incredibly thankful.
Sissy
Our firstborn is 4 years old and she is a little ball of fire! She gives 100% to everything she does, whether its a tantrum, hitting Bug, or loving her family. Needless to say, she keeps life interesting. She challenges me every day (second?) and I’m so thankful to be her mama. She teaches me to focus on what’s really important, and reminds me that I have an audience of One.
Bug
Little man is 3, and is technically still the baby of our family. His brother is 2 weeks older than him. This guy is sweet-natured and easy going, and his surprise entrance to our family was exactly what we needed, exactly when we needed it. He teaches me to love deeply, and reminds me daily about the Giver of all good gifts.
Boo
This is the little man behind the plan (aka, the reason we started a blog). This little fella is also 3, and we brought him home in March 2015 from an orphanage in Eastern Europe. We spent over a year working to bring him home, and now we are desperately trying to fill him up with all the love he might have missed the last couple of years. He’s already teaching me to slow down and enjoy the present, and reminding me what life is really all about.
Gypsy
I mentioned we love our fur baby, right? This girl has been with us since we got married, and she is pure joy and wiggly love. She is ecstatic to have another face to lick, and one more chance to catch dropped food! She makes bad days better, and brings a smile to everyone’s face. She teaches us all about unconditional love, and reminds us there is always time to play ball.
Ali,so excited to read your blog. can’t wait to see the latest baby, actually it would be nice to see them all in person!!!.love what you are doing

I agree! We need a huge family trip sometime soon. Would love to spend time with everyone!
Ali, I am your fabulous sister in law Loretta’s best friend. So excited to see you that you are blogging about this journey! Can’t wait to see how God will be glorified! I will be praying for your amazing family!

Thank you! We are so grateful for your prayers. We will all need them. Thanks for reading, and for loving L like Jesus. We are thankful for you 🙂
Hi! I am Loretta’s college roommate and also a bio and adoptive mom. Our daughter joined our family through an open domestic adoption and our four sons are bio kiddos. We were not “going till we got the girl” but it sure looks that way! lol. We will be cheering and praying for you from St. Louis 🙂
Thanks for reading and for your support! We know we will need all the help we can possibly get 🙂
